Default Fan stays one hours after I cut the car off

I have a 97 Camaro Z28. It doesn't run hot according to the gage, but the fan will stay on hours after I park the car. Any ideas on the culprit, and is it an easy fix?

Wow! that's weird. Do you have a switch rigged up to it? The fans are controlled by the pcm.

This thread had nothing to do with the New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech section, so I moved it here to the General Maintenance & Repairs section. Please post in the correct sections.

Thanks,
Craig.

yes, i think on the ls1 cars its on the drivers side under the hood in the fuses box! look for fan #1 and fan #2 big gray or black relays

Were both fans running or one?In order for both to be running, three relays would of had to stick-very unlikely.

I just went and bought all three relays and put them in and nothing. My fans are still turning on. The only way to turn them off is to take out the Fuse for the Cooling fan which is a 10amp.

What can it be ??

in ur situation i think the blue and green wires may hav grounded! try to diagnose the issue! remove the big connector on the passenger side! the one with the J and H blue and green wires.

if the blue and green wire, if those two wires ever ground anywhere low or high speed fan will turn on regardless of the car being started or not. so keep that in mind. maybe the wire melted someplace or the pcm is damaged. u know what i will look in my haynes manual right now for u to see what the problem it bro
