Please Anyone Ever Seen Antifreeze Leak Out From Around The Pass Back Head Stud Its The One By Header. Doesn't Look Like Its Comming From Block. I Have Not Started My Car But For A Min Or Two Since My Swap. Think The Torque Is Wrong?? WOULD IT BE OK TO TAKE HEAD STUD OUT AND PUT THREAD SEALER ON IT AND TORQUE IT BACK DOWN? Please Help

Sealer will not correct this, they are blind holes. What was your installation procedure, what gaskets, what heads?

Did you use copper spray sealant on the gaskets? If not you may have to pull the head(s) and do that (if you are using MLS gaskets)

i am using mls gaskets with prc stage 1 ls6 heads, i hand screwed studs in and then put heads on an torqued them to specs. i don't think i did anything out of the ordinary

I have a very similar problem that I have not yet taken a look at yet. I think in my case the coolant is actually coming from one of the exhaust header bolts. These are usually blind holes also but I wouldn't be surprised on a CNC head if it got to close and opened up that hole to a water passage. The water on mine was coming directly out of the rear most exhaust header bolt. Did you ever tap and thread an exhaust header bolt hole? That could have been it too. Just something else to consider.

ARP head stud torque is 80 lb-ft with ARP lube. Have you checked the rear passenger head plug for leaks? How about the coolant bypass plug/tube in the rear. Are these GM MLS gaskets (if so, no spray on these)?

Have you done a re-torque yet?

Check everything out first, but generally after the motor has been up to temp a couple of times it is worth a re-torque.

That's why I asked earlier, it isn't the first time anyone has done that. At least it was an easy fix.

How do you retorque you would have to take out the rocker bars right? and then reset the rockers again. What a pain in the butt.
