Default How many miles is too many to spray?

My car is bumping 120000 on the clock but I'm just now deciding I want the juice. Mods are in the sig. I was planning on trying the hidden halo system from nitro dave's
Are there any special precautions for high mile LS1s?

I bought my SS when it had 110k miles. It was stock when I bought it. Mods in sig + Racetronix now. It has gone 11.07 on a 125 shot and 11.04 on a 175 running lean before the fuel pump swap. The engine now has 128k + miles and still going strong. It certainly likes the nitrous. I haven't made a clean pass on the big hit with the racetronix yet, but has gone 11.4 with a 1.8 60' in 2800+ DA with lots -o- wheel spin through 1st and 2nd.

***edit****

10.97 so far with 10.0:1 AFR. I'll be leaning it out to around 11.5:1 AFR and hope to see some 10.60's.

the higher the mileage, the more i suggest to spray it to pieces.

I have a friend that was spraying on his 250K+ mile fox body weekly. Guess it just depends on how much you're spraying and how responsible you are.

As long as you tune the car for the juice and the car has been maintained I say hit it hard...

I have a 98 with 134,000 on the clock that ran the times in my sig with the mods in my sig...

It's at the shop right now getting the racetronix kit installed and we will be jetting it for a 175 wet hit(~160RWHP/225RWTQ) along with my new custom cam( mid 230's on a 111)
and looking for mid 10's on the stock 10 bolt and mildly built trans(I've got two spare rear ends so if it blows it blows). May the guardian angels protect my trans though...

I sprayed my car a few times with 115k. This is with bolt ons and a 100 shot. I now have full bolt ons and a 230's duration cam. I will be installing the racetronix kit and hitting it with a 100 shot again. The car will have about 122k when i spray it again.

98k here on 175 shot and it loves it...
Miles really dont matter to me... its more how its been taking care of.

I trust spraying the walls down on a 200k mile car thats been taking care of alot more than I do a 100k mile car thats been beat to hell and neglected its whole life.

and when it comes to playing it safe with any sort of forced induction its all in the tune..

It all depends on the condition of the motor. Miles really don't have alot to do with it.

My engine had 152000 on it when i tore it apart. Looked good as can be with all bearings and everything. I would of sprayed if i would have known how good the engine was inside> pull the oil pan and check bearings. If they look ok throw some arp bolts in there and call it a day

depends on the purpose of your car and how much $$ you have. High miles of course is more risky but ****, why not spray it till she blows. haha
