Ever get your car back from the shop and it FEELS slower?
Just had a bunch of stuff done to my car, new cam, lifters, springs, locks and retainers, valve seals, etc... One of my springs broke and I took it in to have it checked out. Turns out the OD of the springs was a little too big for the 5.3 heads, and 5 of the 8 cam lobes where chewed up bad. The lifters were gone also.
New cam is a little bigger than the old 227/227 vs 228/233 and mechanically it's running excellent. No complaints there...but it feels like it lost 50 ft/lbs of torque and hp.
The lsa of the new cam is different, so it's not as choppy 112 vs 114...that I don't like... and I think the lift numbers are less: .581 vs .575. I still have the same tune for the old cam, but the new one isn't that much different...is it?
I know this is all speculation and "butt dyno", but anyone else have that feeling?
Guess the only way to know for sure is to dynotune it and find out for sure.
Any thoughts?

I was gonna say the same thing as Savior1974, don't know if it's right, but I echo those thoughts.
Another thing: how about the fact it was running ragged before versus good now? Do you think that could affect your perception?
Unless you have data to support the butt dyno, I would try not to worry about it, personally. Things like that will drive you mad. I hear a different noise from the rear of my car every now and then and I spend hours underneath to no avail. Finally said **** it b/c it must be normal.

did you check all your valves to make sure they are straight? if the 2 that broke are even slightly bent then you are losing lots of combustion energy through them. also you really are going to need a new tune to optimize the combo...
