Default Ported TB, Re-tune?

If I get my throttle body ported, do I need to get the car re-tuned? If another tune is only going to squeeze out another 2hp then its not worth it. What do you guys think about the ported TB benefits, are they worth it, or is just another thing to do for the hell of it?

One of the best mods for your $. Send me $69 for mine and if you don't like it you can send it back.

You don't need a tune. The computer recognizes the extra airflow via the MAF and makes the adjustments. Expect 7-9rwhp on average untuned. Now a ported MAF needs a tune because you're getting more air in than the computer thinks it's getting. Usually the stock MAF descreened is the way to go until you get into big cubic inch motors.

I have never seen a New Era Performance ported throttle body in person, but what I do know is that they don't cut the front throttle shaft off, just like many other porters, which is a big part of the airflow improvement. Many don't do this because it makes setting the blade difficult. I have to spend time getting it just right instead of just slapping a blade and screws in there that will pretty much self-align. I also don't know if they do the bump-stop mod which is important.
