car wont start some times

Default car wont start some times

ok well sometimes if i got to start my car it wont start. i dont get a click or anything. now if i let out the clutch and and push it back in most of the time it will start but today i had to do it 2 or 3 times. and it doesnt do it all the time. i changed the starter and battery with no luck.

Maybe a clutch start/safety switch.

yup the clutch safety switch. it is right by the clutch pedel! look under the clutch pedel and u will see a black plastic rectangular peice

Get a flashlight and look under the dash by the clutch pedal, has a small "plunger" on it. Maybe it's just loose or something. I wouldn't try to bypass it.

for safety reasons. its there for a reason, so u wont start in gear!

im having this same problem ive gone throught three of these bastards from orielys how do i just by pass it and will it damage the car at all?

I had same problem with my car, A4, I located the problem to the "START" fuse-bad connection. Symptom was the sam as in your desc.
