BFG SS review
So I got a set of 285/40/17 bfg super sport a/s for the rear and I am verry happy. They are not the nicest looking tire but they dead hook on the street. I also drove them in the pouring rain and was very happy, no hydroplaning what so ever. At first they chirped a bit but I guess they needed to break them in. I went with a an electronic stop watch and we did a 0-100 run with a full tank, me at 280 pounds with the windows down and the tire preasure at 40 (damn tire store over inflated them) on a 90 degree day. Did three runs and got them all in 12.09/ 12.13 / 12.07 range. I know that is no way to read anything because of mental to finger delay against my favor or helping me (who knows), just did it for a little childish fun. Will take them to the track soon and see whats up.
They corner well and hug the line very nice, little road noise. I am pleased and got them at a good price. I had KDW's before my SS's and to me these hook better.

good to know. thanks! I am going to get new tires this week, possibly today depending on what time I get out of work. I was oreginally leaning toward KDW or G-Force Sport since I live in a snow-free climate but from what I've read the SS will last longer and handle handle better in the rain so now I'm leaning toward them. Good timing with your review.

I also found out they have a tread wear rating of 400 where the G-Force Sport is only 340 so the SS will live a little longer. Tirerack.com ratings gave it good scores for wet conditions. The guy at Costco highly recommended the Super Sport over the Sport and it only cost a couple bucks more per tire. I ordered them. Next week at this time I will be somewhere in the middle of a 900 mile road trip with them so looking forward to seeing how much smoother/quieter they are than my current rapidly going bald Sumitomos.

I just had them installed this evening. So far I like them although my only test drive was the two mile drive home. But they seem to grip MUCH better than my old ones. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow when it is light out.
