Racer's Lounge - Would you let your dog ride in your LSX car?

Saw that post about getting a new dog and made me think about getting one, but I'd have to take the guy out. And the only way to do that is in style, but I'm not too sure I'd be happy about dog hair and slobber on and around the car.

Would you let your dog if your car? (If you don't have one assume you did)

Are you serious? You're that anal about your car that you would consider not letting your dog ride in it? If that's the case, don't get a dog. My dog loves the TA with the T-Tops off. I put the passenger seat back so she can lay out, or she goes and lays in the backseat.

To me asking something like that is like asking if you let your kid ride in the car.

Get a small one. Put him in a carry crate when in the car. Problem solved.

I have a Chow, a jack russel and another black dog shapped animal we are not exactly sure what she is lol...They have all got a ride in the Z. They sit in the front seat and do not roam around. With the windows down and a clean dog, no mess, no smell, NO PROBLEMS :D WHy shouldnt dogs get to ride in a sweet car like I do

I was thinking of getting a German Shepherd but if I let it in the car I'd lay down a towel.

Btw, is your kid really as hairy and slobbery as a dog? Jk.

Do any of you have a problem with the claws on the leather? I have wanted to take our rot in the Z but I am afraid of the leather? Would it be ok?

Do you let your dog in the house? Does it tear your furniture?

My parents have a Shih-tzu, its a great dog and I love the thing. I wanted to take him for a ride in my Formula but he runs and hides when I start it. I gave him a ride him my DD and he did fine though.

She comes inside but she is a rot which is a bit heavier than a shih-tzu lol. I could just put a cover on the passenger side while she is in the car. That would work I'm sure. The leather in the C5s is very thin and cheap so thats why I am worried.

Have had my dog in my car maybe 2 times. She did fine w/ the seats, no scratches. She just slobbers too much lol. She is part mastiff so she's not a tiny girl either ~65-70lbs She also likes to go from front seat to back seat to get comfortable.

Now my other dog? my 150lb rottie? Hell no he was just a beast, and would scratch everything and want to sit in my freaking lap. Big pussy is what he was lol. He looked mean though.

I guess it all depends on the size of the dog and the way they are in the car.

Ya My dog rides with me, I sometimes take her to car meets and even the occasional race with her. shes a pit which is pretty short hair so thats not a problem but scratching the leather might be, I found the best place for her is with the rear seat folded down in back because its made of cloth and gives her a big flat area to lay on instead of a little leather bucket seat...

My reply is a firm no! In the past I have always let my dogs ride in all my vehicles, but they were all setters & retrievers with long fur that was easy to vacuum up.

My present "buddy" is a pointer/dalmation mix with short white fur that impales itself into the carpet and just won't come out.

So I bought him his own truck.

I wouldn't let my dog in the z28.

And sure as hell not in the z06. The nails on leather...um, no. I'm sure she'd of loved the z28's t-tops though.

I did, lots of times. It's just motel 6 carpet upholstery, what am I trying to protect? When i take my dog somewhere in my current car i just put a towel down, don't want him to rip my leather.

Sometimes I take my doberman out for rides in my T/A. He likes sitting in the front seat, where he can sit up like a human, but I feel safer for his welfare with him in the back.

Dunno bout dogs but my cat rides quite often in my SS. He likes to prop up on the center of the steering wheel and look out the windshield.

I've taken my german sheperd out a few times in my formula, t-tops off, windows down, he loved it. Some of you all are really anal, it aint that serious to me, I mean if I get hair in my car a quick tip to get it detailed and problem solved.

My dog sheds so much, I can sweep a pile of hair that would cover her entire body 10 times over, and it's right back the next day. Somehow she manages to never go bald. I can't figure it out.

She has only ridden in the car twice on a long trip to visit family, and I still haven't gotten it all out.

I take my pooch with me everywhere. Sometimes I feel gay because its a toy poodle but I love her to death. Sometimes she starts walking around so I give it some gas and she gets scared and lays down

Um. yes, I would, i love my dogs, and i love my car.
Drive it... no.

Here's the deal, put a towel down if they're in the back, or just let them sit up front.
I'm planning on Arizens within a year or so... or at least new seats of some sort. So really, I don't mind getting the front seats torn up at all.
