traction issues after heater hose mod
i recently did the heater hose mod. i have an A4 and it always hits 2nd gear hard. Well now with the heater hose it wants to break loose alot more when it hits second. It always barks and pulls to the passenger side. I mean its awsome and all but probably now helping with 1/4 mile times. Im still fairly stock with long tubes, true duals, K&N. I like the way my car sits with the heater hose mod. i just am not a fan of the traction prob. I was wondering what i can do to solve this traction issue. I thought i heard that i could put LT1 springs in place of mine and get the same amount of drop that i would from the heater hose mod. Then i could put the real spring holders back in. i cant get lowering springs due to true duals. Any way to keep that rear end drop and still keep traction at 2nd gear?

Hard to believe that one thing would make a huge difference. If it does, then anything you do to keep that ride height will likely result in the same thing--unless you upgrade suspension.

well it has always chirped second but i just noticed that it gets alot crazier now with the heater hose mod. What suspension mod. would keep my rearend straight under the car and keep it from sliding to the passenger side?

just a couple of things to check, you may need an adjustable TA because when you lowered you change your pienon ? angle, also you may need an adjustable panhard bar to center rear under car, you may have changed the thrust angle on the rear when you did mod, which would cause car to jump eather right or left when shifting, may have an align shop check the thrust angle on the rear if off more than 0.013 may need adjustable LCA
good luck, Johnny

You change the geometry of the suspension and thus the car acts different . . .
Kind of obvious . . . usually any lowering to the car typically heeds attention to the lower control arm mounts being lowered or the torque arm needing to be adjustable . . . or sometimes both.

thanks for the replies. I thought i had seated the springs right. But, maybe not because it does like to pull to one side at the shift. Ill check that out first. Any place in particular that i should get LCA brackets from?
