04 Cobra's..
One had Nitto's, the other had Mickey Thompson DR's. Both had after market exhaust, and thats about all I know for mods. I never went and talked to them.
First race was against the white cobra running Nitto's. I got a bad R/T, pulled a .140, Cobra red lighted, he got a -.018. By the 330 mark I was two cars ahead of him, by the eight I was probibly close to 6. Kinda hard to tell... My 1/4 time was a 11.98 at a 114mph. His was 13.1 at I think if I remember correctly 109mph
I hot lapped got back in line and what do you know, I go up against the other cobra, red one, with dr's.
I catch a little better light, but not by much, .110. He cought a really bad light. .330. After I realized I was ahead on him, I really didn't look back again to see how much I was gaining on him. I ended up running a 11.901 at 114mph, he ran a 13.3 at 110mph.<<<Once I am back home I will verify there times, but I think thats what they were.
There was a GT500 out playing, really nice, all black, running 10.9's on a set of DR's...
EDIT: And before this becomes one of those threads that starts the ford vs chevy crap.... They probibly needed to driver mod.... My car is nothing special.. just a lil ole cam.

Nice kills. It's funny how quickly you get accustomed to speed. I pulled up next to a stock Terminator the other day, orange vert, and he didn't seem interested in racing, so I punched it and took off. Further down the road, he caught up smiling and giving a thumbs up, then he punched it. It just wasn't at all impressive. I know they're great performing cars even in stock form, but lately I feel even my car is slow and I would have murdered this guy. Time for more power. :D

Good kills... the trapspeeds obviously indicate that you should have won, but they really shouldn't have been in the 13s, especially with drag radials and exhaust (and possibly more). But those cars are hard to launch, and it is getting rather hot out.

Those aren't excuses... those are reasons. If you can't run 12s in a Cobra that you OWN, it's for a reason. Either it's really hot outside (which it wasn't), or you haven't learned how to launch correctly. Especially if the car isn't stock, and has drag radials. Reasons aren't excuses.

Sure haven't... but I do know that it has IRS, and that it gets heatsoaked rather easily. I'm not exactly sure why you decided to jump down my throat on this issue. You and I both know that they're twelve second cars in capable hands in the right conditions. And you and I both know that whether the Cobra owners could drive or not, they still would have gotten their asses kicked. All I said was that they could/should have run better than they did. I'm not exactly sure why it's such a big deal that I said an exhaust/DR Cobra should run better than 13.3... bad day today?

There is a GT500 with not much done at all to it that is fast as PISS!!! Then again the driver can out drive any person in this town I'm pretty sure.

A pulley and tune will put it in the mid-low 11's :judge:
Agreed, but only if the driver doesn't suck complete ass (which ever one that I've seen does). The last one I raced beat me by .1 seconds and less that 2 mph with 130+ extra rwhp and way more torque, and both of us on Nittos. Obviously if it was just up to the cars then the GT500 would be way faster, but unfortunately for the GT500 most of their owners can't drive. Seems like the majority that I see at the track run low 12's to very high 11's on drag radials with the basic bolt-ons (usually on the low 120's mph.)
And as far as weight goes, the GT500 looks like a lightweight compared to that fat turd of a Challenger :barf:

The same will apply to the new Camaro.

I have no trouble believing that. That's the biggest reason I'll never own either of those cars. I'd buy a used 03/04 Cobra or C6 first any day of the week.

Remember that Mach1 I mentioned earlyier in this thread??? Well someone had gotten a video of him... He was running alot faster times than that, he was illegal, so he had to slow it down in order to run CCC.
