Gears & Axles - blew up the torsen diff.

i had the upgraded diff on my SS and recenttly blew it up. took the cover off nad nothing but silver paste came out. took it to the shop and replaced it with a aubirn. they told me the torsen was kinda week and they have never had a auburn come back. what do you guys think?

Yeah what he said. Torsen is great, no clutches no adjustments. If your putting out a LOT of power you might want to go with an aftermarket like a Strange.

What they said . what did you do to take out a Torsen? I know a guy who was going 110 on a country road and he down shifted in to second to take a turn and he broke his torsen out and broke four teeth off the ring gear. who ever told you that a Alburn diff is better is a fool . They won't take near as much abuse as a Torsen and your can't rebuild them. I would buy a Torsen HD or a Eaton and go with it.
