How easy to change rear main LS1..
Doing a clutch tommorrow, and gonna replace the rear main seal...i flathead screwdriver work out ok? What about the pilot bushing, mine came apart when i pulled the tranny, what the easiest way to get one of those out when its all fallen apart and stuck in there?

If your taking the tranny out anyway for a clutch it's not bad. The hardest parts removing and installing the tranny. You should be able to use the Screwdriver. The old seal gets pryed out and tap the new seal back in place with a small to medium size hammer. The pilot bearing is kind of a pita. Some stores sell a pilot bearing remover that slips onto the end of a small slide hammer. That's what I used when I did mine at college.

there is a plate that's bolted down covering it. You can change it without removing the plate but the plate gasket may be leaking to so if it is you replace that too you'll also have to get a new gasket but you may be able to use some gasket sealer instead. Sorry can't remember how the plate is bolted down.
