Default LT1 track results

The car is a 383 LT1 TH400 4000 nitrous stall (tight) and 3:73 gears 12bolt the car has all the typical suspension stuff. I'm running 275/60/15 28in drag radials. The car made 468 rwhp on the dyno na. Anyway the goal was to run a high ten on motor and 9's on spray. I went to the track and I was a little dissapointed the car would not leave hard at all. I was cutting 1.7 sixty's consistant played with air pressure adjusted the hal's nothing worked. Since then I have swapped out the 3:73's for 4:10's and I'm thinking of running a 26in tire on motor and possible loosen the stall as a last result. I would be running 28's when I do spray it I just wanted to get the motor dialed in first. Ran 11.4 @119 and 96 1/8th 1.731 sixty. NA

What size tire were you on for this pass? If it was a 28", you had way too much tire for the 3.73s. The 4.11s will wake it up and the 26s will help too NA. With some seat time, I could see this car running a 10 NA. You probably cleared the traps way under the peak power band. The gear and tire will greatly improve 60 and will put you in the power band into the traps so you should see nice gains. Like I said, in good air should crack 10s.

BADSZ28 thanks, I was running a 28in tire on these runs and yes I was way under my power band going through the traps. I think like you said a little more time and good air I can crack tens with some low 1.5 to 1.4 sixty's.

It's a PTC 4000 nitrous converter which seems to be some what efficient looking at the dyno numbers.

Thanks Larry, I'm pleased at what you guys have done to the car and I hope to get off early to make it to the track with you guys. I want to try and improve on the last trip out.

If you dail it that way forget juice You will have a Great N/A only setup but will probably run out of RPM on juice

I am not making near your HP and consistant 11.0s-10.9s and I am still tuning and learning the car again. Running 28in Radials with a very tight 8in. Car is hitting the scales at 3,530 right now. I am still worried about rpm on Juice.

Your stall is definately to tight from the video. Not coming out of the hole nearly as hard as it should. I am also guessing no Trans. Brake?

Here is an Idea of what Mine looks like. 412RWHP N/A 28in tires 3.73s and a tight stall on the brake

Keep at it man you have a great combo going on!

4.10/28 and looser stall should work great, but the converter ended up tighter then we wanted, so there is our hold up of a 10 sec pass

+ as mentioned the plugs when he ran last are from almost 2 years ago and when removed look horrible. The car ran god, but was far from crisp pulling thru the RPM band.

The red T/A we had at the LTX shootout has about the same combo, but makes about 50 less rwhp on the rollers. The car goes consistent 11.0's @ 121-122 mph. Jeff's car should be in the 10's with some tweaks and some more track time.

The car does have a brake, but the BFG's could not take the shock.

Ok,Larry, scrap Lt1? right. It looks like I'm going to miss this one again. Have a good run. I'll talk to you soon.

BADHAWK, I saw your car at the openhouse. Thats an amazing machine. You were showing us your easy access roll bar if you remember. Hope you meet your goals come friday at GLD.

Ellis, I have some 17in rims with 315/35/17 Hoosiers on them I'm going to try on motor then I have some 28in drag radials for the juice so I'm not worried about running out of rpm. I have since changed to 4.10's and will loosen the stall next and I think that will put me where I want to be.

Your car looks and runs great congrats on building a quick LT1.

BOLO, I remember talking to you guys and thanks for the compliments. I'm sure I will improve on my times how much we will see but, Larry has always been good about steering me in the right direction.

you should be happy with the Hoosiers. We have ran them deep into the tens on that size.

One of the reasons I went to 28 is I was running out of gear on juice. The converter was stretched far enough I was hitting the 7,200 limit before the traps with 3.73s Hope fully with the 28s and a tighter converter It won't hit the Limiter any more.

I was just trying to share, Larry and the boys won't steer you wrong man!

I couldn't do anything decent with 315/35/17 tires on my stock LT1. 15" Slicks gave me nearly 3/4 second over those tires. Just FYI.
Peace

I don't expect to run my best time with them I just want to see how the mph picks up on the 26in tires versus the 28's.

Thanks.

It looked pretty good once you got out of the 60' area...Once you get that hole shot down, that car should boogy..
