so who is getting the new Firefox 3 browser, it came out today and also today is Download Day 2008 as well, I am downloading it cuz Firefox is my fav browser, no script, ad-block plus alone is enough to keep unwanted popups, adds and such :)

Sorry to hear that. Firefox is the only thing I'll use, Internet Explorer doesn't even come close. I haven't bothered with Opera or any of the others.

Now, is it the Firefox 3 Sneak Peak? That's the only one I can get, unless I download firefox 2 again. Running a mac.

IE FT W :D Never had a problem with it... 99% of the time when there are problems it's user error ... I don't need additional software to "protect" myself lol

I actually write alot of websites such that they will fail to load properly with firefox :) tis fun buahah

Internet Explorer wastes too many system resources and leaks like crazy. Firefox is a much more efficient program.

That's called bad programming. A properly written website will work without issue on all browsers. I know Internet Explorer extensively and it's truly a piece of shit, it's a wonder anyone uses it anymore.

ok just downloaded it and i have a couple of concerns that maybe you guys know how to fix:

1. it wont let me have my right click gestures addon where you can hold right click and go left and you go back a page and all that good stuff

2. when you have tabs open and you put the mouse over the tabs and scroll the mouse wheel it doesnt scroll through the tabs

naw, it's just sticking it to firesux :P (only websites I make are for personal use... I program in real languages lol)

(and I'd consider it more bad scripting since making HTML pages isn't programming lol ... adding serverside functionality or use other languages is different though :P)

IE does the job fine for me.... Firefox may be great for people that have to click every single link or don't like thinking... but I just use my head when I browse and never a problem :D

You are being completely biased for no reason. Firefox has problems loading maybe 1 out of 1000 websites. It is far more efficient in terms of system resources and it has far less security threats. I know you said the only time security threats are a problem is when people click the wrong links or whatever, but thats completely untrue. IE has so many security risks its not funny.

Horist is a known IE leghumper. I think he might even be a socialist democrat.

Get a rope.

I downloaded FF3 a little while ago. Running on it now. I had to manually update Adblock Plus, but NoScript seemed to install OK. My "IE Tab" add-on isn't working though (lets you open web pages in IE with a right-click, use on pages that don't work in FF very well). But so far so good.

Scripting is actually a programming language. As far as the "Firefox may be great for people that have to click every single link or don't like thinking" comment, I have no idea where you're going with that.

Just got FF3. So far it doesn't seem all that different than 2 for general browsing, except it does seem faster. For some reason ebay was hanging up on 2 for me, really got annoying. Didn't used to but started one day all of a sudden. But that seems fixed now with FF3 so I'm happy :D

Firefox >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> IE, especially IE7. Ugh 7 is horrible, looks like they threw an atom bomb into IE6 and blew the pieces all over the place. NOTHING is centralized. IE7 will never be on my PC as long as I have XP.

i been having the beta for a while, i just got the real version today and is faster the the previous for sure. I also like that its not all cluttered its very simple and easy to find things that you looked at before.

Well not to defend IE but I have a mac and they come with Safari which I have come to find out is just plain gay. I installed firefox and haven't looked back. I do though on my window's machine have problems with IE all the time, the new one 7 I think is just crap, I has crashed on this website a few times. and HATES when i use you tube.

I had FF1 and it was good. Been using IE with Vista since that came on my laptop. Just test drove FF3. Went to the 1st website cbssportsline.com to check fantasy baseball standings. It couldn't load the active scoring or live scoring. Not a great first impression.

I don't want to know how it works, I just want it to work.
Test drive over /uninstall FF3
