Default Radiator Cap Vented or not

Simple question.
I want to get new one, the current one is a 16 lbs
The parts store say it should be an 18 lbs one vented.

being that the cap is on the radiator and not an expansion tank like some other vehicles, i'd say its definitely a non vented cap.

Thanks,
Reason I ask is I replaced the T-stat and water pump. The 16 lbs cap was on there. I swapped it for the correct 18 lbs non-vented from AZ and the main hose going into the top of the pump started blowing coolant out under pressure.

i never heard of a vented radiator cap. sounds like somebody doesnt know whats they talking about. i know it needs pressure and there are different lbs ratings. some have a release valve on top. if you are talking about a camaro im pretty sure it is a closed system, which means it has a fill tank and you dont add fluid thru the radiator.

A few of the caps I looked at said vented right on them, they weren't the lever kind either.
They have something in the center that lifts.
