General LSX Automobile Discussion - black or NBM?

I am thinking about getting my 2000 black ss painted it. I was thinking or going to Navy Blue Metallic and getting some 17 or 18" fikses f/m 5's What do you think??? :lock:

Well if I was going to do it I'd keep the engine bay black because that would just look completely badass. Old school, you know? And while you're at it, keep the rear filler panel black and get the Berger look going too. :nod:

My last camaro was Black and my current one is NBM. I like both colors, but nothing looks better than a black car with chrome rims after a nice wax. If your paint is fine i would not switch over.

I came close to buying a black WS6...like 3 minutes away. The damn thing sold while I was out test driving it. I don't know how they let someone take it out while paperwork was pending. Ultimately I wound up waiting for my NBM. For me personally, I am glad I waited. Both look awesome though.

Firebirds, especially WS6 ones, should only come in black or NBM...

If you're getting it painted then I would get something that wasn't offered for fbodies like electron blue.

Why not just paint it black as it has already been? Much less hassles for not needing to paint doorjambs etc.

What come to the color, though, I've owned three NBM F-bodies (00 Z28 and 2 99 TA's) and I think that is one of the best colors ever. Black is beautiful but a bitch to keep clean. NBM is a bit easier in that area.

black is badass, well so is NBM....:confused: either one will be sweet!

Both are awesome.

Black is nice......after you wash it, wax it, polish it, wind blows then you California Duster it....basically black is nice when it's clean.

NBM is probably one of my favorite colors on F-body, when the sun hits it, it looks great. Once again though you will have to take care of the paint to really appreciate it

NBM looks way better in the sunlight after a nice polish. I still stop and enjoy how gorgeous it is after i wash it. black is damn nice...but, its just not the same. I like the leave the engine bay black idea tho

I say keep it black or go with something custom. I like NBM, but I don't think it's gonna be much easier to clean than black.....

I agree. Maybe try a really nice pearl white.

NBM. Black is plain, boring, and very common. I will never own a black or red car.

I like both colors but black it my favorite and since the car is already black I would stick with that. Like others have said nothing looks better than a black car with some chrome wheels after and nice wax. Def get the wheels though.

I say NBM but I am not what you could call impartial... :D

No matter what color you choose your going to wash it at least once a week anyway so get what ever color you like the best.

black is way 2 common nowadays go NBM

i really wanted a white fbody. but the wifey talked me into the NBM. either way i got an fbody so its a win-win situation for me..:D

I say you should pick from one of the corvette colors, the f-body's are too common. Have you thought about Mag Red, Atomic Orange, Millenium Yellow or Velocity Yellow?

What about Mystic Blue Metallic? Looks kinda like the mystic cobras, but it was an option for the 01 z28's and TA I think

If I had to repaint my car it would be very hard to stick with black. Keeping it clean and looking good is a complete pain in the ass, I hear that NBM is almost as bad as black to keep clean, but it looks really good. I personally would consider going with EBM, SOM, Yellow, or some other custom color.

I agree with whoever said to paint it a color that's not stock.

Painting it a stock color that isn't stock for the car is a waste IMO. There are tons of nice looking blues that look a million times better than the stock shade (which is nice, but its also stock...)

Black is nice but hard to keep looking nice, it has to be clean.

So black or find a new color is my answer. Creativity is fun.

i'd say the Vette Electron blue OR as said a nice pearl white. I think that could look pretty badass:devil: i've been tossing the idea of repainting mine a custom color such as a lambo pearl orange or a pearl white;) i love black

Deep Copper Metallic with black SS stripes. Think '70 Chevelle. I own a black car but love colors that you rarely see done.

But if its black or blue then I say NBM looks sweet, black looks evil. What matches your personality?

I have owned both, go NBM, it is BADASS. Plus, everyone in is mother has black and it is IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean (although NBM is not too much better). If this is a daily driver I would consider painting it a lighter color. It would make it much easier to keep clean.
