Default How to tell if prev. owner had my computer reprogrammed

I bought a 98 WS6 with A4 and at WOT it seems like it hits a rev limiter before it shifts gears. I was wonder if the previous ower could have done something to change the shift points but not increase the rev limiter. If he did how could I tell? It had a borla exhaust so I know the 1st ower did somethings to it but I bought it from a dealer so I don't really know what was done to the car. I wanted to buy a power programer for my car but I was worried that my car might have a chip or module from Jet Performance or something like that, that would make a power programer not compatible with my car. I would appreciate any useful advise on this one.

The Jet chip plugs into the PCM between the big connector and the PCM, its pretty obvious. You can have someone with LS1edit read your PCM and compare it to a stock file or just bring it to a dealer and have it flashed back to stock and then do whatever you want with it from there..
