Default Symptoms of a bad Fuel Filter ?

I haven't replaced my fuel filter since 06,I think. What are the symptoms one has with a bad filter.Ive been having to start my car twice in order to get it running.Could these be a symptom of a bad fuel filter?I should now better than to change the fuel filter, but It just hasn't been possible.Yep I'll change it today see if the 2 starts go away.
