Trans Am Nationals -Dayton,OH- August 22-24 Has anyone on the board ever gone to the trans am nationals in Dayton, Ohio or plan on going? Just wondered what some thoughts and opinions on it were? Seems like a good time! http://www.78ta.com/nats/index.htm

I went last year with RPM Mark. Great time and even better cars. If your into f-bodies this is a must go show. We will both be up there this year with my T/A and his 2,600 mile GTA.

Yep, it is an awesome show! We didn't get a chance to bring the cars last year but this year will be different. The Tipp City cruise on Sat night is awesome! 400 or so TAs taking
over a small town main street is a sight to see. Especially with Trans Am based songs being played the whole night over the loud speakers! Hope you can make it! Plus you're a lot closer than we are!

I've been there every year for the last 6 or so. Not sure if i'm going this year since I moved from dayton. There's loads of people going from www.dayton-fbody.com

speaking of this.. this MIGHT be the last year for it. the hotel and surrounding area is being torn up for the airport to expand. i sent sue emmel (1 of the organizers of the event) a email about it and she sent me this..
if this is going to continue past this year, we need a STRONG showing this year. i dont know about you guys, but i look forward to the T/A nats more than any other day or weekend of the year. id hate to see it stop now after all these years.
I don't know what we are going to do yet. If we don't start getting support from people that don't enter their cars in the show we won't have to worry about what we are going to do....it will cease.

I heard that the hotel is being torn down before next year's show but I thought this years' will be ok. But if they are already starting construction then that really sucks. It shouldn't be too hard to find another venue to host the show, it just won't feel the same. The Airport Hotel is a staple of the TA Nats.

i go to school at dayton so ill definitely be heading over there. i hate to say it but bringing the car down would not be a good idea for me. should be a great time though

they need more things going on you can only see the same cars so many times. and walking around the vendors takes maybe an hour. Ive gone the last three years and its fun and all but after going to the gto nationals last year and winning the scca stock class event it got over shadowed. the t/a nats needs a boost maybe a year off will be just such a boost. tipp city is well worth the trip though mainly the reason i keep going. ol jerry reed is a little much to handle after the 200th time though.
