Default Computer Or Leak?

started my car up today for the first time in about 6 months.

during that time it got some goodies. turbo kit. msd ignition and so on

today when it started it idles high. witch i expected but it wont idle down. it will sit at 1900-2000rpms...drop down to about 1100 then go back up to 2K.

now im wondering, scicne i had the computer tuned/ car being off with no power for so long. will it have to go threw a learning process witch could be causing this high idle/reving?

OR

do i have an intake leak some where? im not thikning i have a leak becuse my vac gauge holds dead steady at 20in at 2k, no fluttering no nothing

any ideas? im planning on tackling it in the morning and hopefully have it out eating 5.0 by dinner time

if you had the battery disconnected during that time, then it may need to relearn stuff such as your fuel trims, which would affect the idle.

I know when I modify my tune, my idle is usually higher than normal for about 50 miles of driving...

after that it drops down to its normal level.

but like you said, it could also be an air leak somewhere that you created when you put that turbo kit on there... double-check all of your connections/clamps/hoses - make sure everything's tight and no leaks anywhere.

no, it's idled high, as in, all throughout my driving... not just when a cold start idle...

till I have about 50 miles or so on it....

then the idle drops back down to normal level...

idling/running on jack stands aint gonna do it.. need to drive it, so the fuel trims can be relearned...

It's a turbo LT1 car? Or is it an LS1? The controls are very different is why I ask

went threw and checked for leaks, sprayed break clean every where and nothing. checked TPS and its at .6X V at idle

going to go put a few KM on it here in a few min

does any one know what the little black box on the passenger side front fraim rail, besides the coolant over flow is? it has one vac line running to it. its about 7 inches long and maybe 3 inches tall in a log shape

Checked and IAC and its in spec according to the chilton book. i plug the TB and it dies, so im 90% sure its not a vac leak, what els, besides the computer would mess with my idle this bad??
