Just wondering... what was done to some of the special edition fbodys, like the GMMG Dale Earnhardt Intimidator SS, that gave them the horsepower rating of 381HP?

Where did the extra power come from? I assume it was tuned a tad more aggressive but were there different parts used under the hood also? I see it came with a lid, but anything else?

well I think one of the reasons it was 381 was because it was the 3 cars numbers the Dale Earnhardt Inc. owned.

Check in the special edition cars forum, but I believe the 380 cars were lid & cat-back. 380 is flywheel horsepower.

I heard that they also had an underdrive pully and a tune. Not sure of that though.

I know its at the crank, but theres gotta be something extra in those cars other than a lid and an exhaust.

381hp Package
Cat Back Chambered Exhaust
High Flow Air Box Lid with Logo
Specific Dale Earnhardt™ Short Throw Shifter
Front & Rear 1.5" Lowering Springs
American Racing 200S alloy wheels with "Magnetallic Grey" spokes
Dimpled Front & Rear Rotors
Satin Black Rear Tail Light Panel
Chromed "Camaro" lettering Tail Panel

these are your options

I guess they think lid and exhaust and lowering springs and short throw shifter = 381-325 (SS crank power) = 56 hp
