Single Digit Club - got my first 8 sec slip

well some of you know me and some of you dont. I used to run a red 88 gta trans am that ran low 9's. I have since sold that car "dumb mistake I miss it everyday" and bought a camaro that is lighter.

After a few months of testing and putting the new car together i raced afew times and it ran great! I switched to a powerglide and it calmed the cardown ALOT. pit some diff shocks on the back and made a few more test passes the 8th

Well on to my day at silverdollar raceway a while back :) I made a motor pass and it went 10.56@129mph I was very happy with that. I then made a pass on the 200 shot and it ran 9.28@146mph :) I was very happy with that.

Then I let it rip! I left on 200 and grabbed another 150 on my second stage and it was on!!!!!! as I was approxing the 1000ft mark my shift light was already on butI sayed in it... then right at the 1000ft I shut my second stage off so i could make it through the 1/4 and it ran a 8.83@149!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when I saw that slip and yelled out!! I scared the ticket lady :)


all I can say is that I am happy as hell with my smallblock 406cid combo. Now I just need to get some better suspension under the car so i can get some better 60's

any pics of the motor setup or what the motor setup is? I know you said 406, is it carb'd, FI... what nitrous system, heads, wet or dry plate or fogger???

reason i got all these questions is because I run about what you run on motor and i'm looking to run 8's as well.... My plate system comes in on thursday and i'm hoping that 350 hp is gonna be enough spray to get it.... :D

I had a 1.32 60ft. i think when i cut the second stage off is where it killed the mph.... plus I was much higher in the rpm's than I would have liked it to be.. 7800rpm

I would love to get a better susp under the car. I think its got the power to go in the mid 1.20's

its a carbed 406, 13:1comp, custom solid roller, afr 227 heads, and custom made ross nitrous pistons. I run an NX fogger, and an NX gemini twin plate. 200 in the fogger and 150 in the plate.

with my 1/8 mile times i think it will go some 8.60's :)

Money has been real tight... I just put on a evac kit that goes through the exhaust for now untill I can do the vac pump deal..
