Default 98 LS1 - Installing LS6 Intake off a 2000...Can I?

I have a 98 T/A. I just got a new LS6 intake in the box. It says part no. 12560251, for 2001-2004 LS engines.

So, can I use this thing? What is dif. about a 98, 99 and 2000 vs 2001-2004? Am I screwed?

yes you will need the LS6 coolent lines or you can mod the underside of the intake which just consists of shaving of some of the ribs to get it to fit over the LS1 coolent lines.

The way my luck goes, I better just get the right lines. Good to know that is the only thing I need to worry about. One guy was telling me my mechanical throttle body would not bolt up.

the throttle bodys are not a problem all the 98-02 tb's will bolt up to the LS1 and LS6 intakes... you many need to get some block off plates if you are taking the E.G.R. stuff off.

Yes, I will be. Is there a good source to go to for the block off plates, or should I try to fabricate some myself?

You also want to check and see if the intake has the threaded inserts on it for the throttle linkage bracket. The two that I have done did not and I had to drill and press new inserts in.
