Default AC accumulator very hot

Hi,

My AC is not blowing cold anymore, so I'm trying to trouble shoot this. Any help would be great.

With the AC turned on to Max and the fan speed at full, I just get hot air blowing. Checking the accumulator (the silver couloured item near the battery) it is hot - from what I understand it should be cold though, right?

I don not have a guage to verify how much pressure I have in the system - what other checks can I do to try and narrow down the problem?

Thanks,

Hi,

Yeah, you were right... I've now got the compressor running again!

Does anyone know how much R134a our system holds.... it's supposed to be written somewhere in the engine bay - but I can't see it anywhere, perhaps it was on the original air intake, which is long gone.

I'm going to take the car to a =n air conditioner shop, but as I'm in Italy, they wont have a clue how much it holds - at least I would doubt they will anyway.

Thanks,

Looked at my stock lid - says 1.5 lbs. (0.68 Kg) - they'll probably charge it by pressure, that's probably a complete fill after vacuum.
