A weird whine has started to happen the past 3 times I started up my car after it sat till it was atleast all the way cool. It goes away after i drive it for about a min. I'd like to say its prob the gears, I'm hopeing its not the transmission because it did it in reverse as well.
Any ideas?

Does it sound like its coming from the rear or what? It could be the power steering pump.

Is it a whine or more of a whistle? It could be a partially plugged check air valve.

Could it have to do with my new SLP kit? I've had 1 on a previous z28 and i dont recognize the noise. I have a almost tap like sound from my motor now too

If it only happens right after startup, it's possible that it's the gas pump. The gas pump runs high after a cold startup, and stays for about a minute. Once the pump normalizes, the idle RPM drops from about 800 to 600. Take note of whether the whine goes away at the same time the idle RPM shifts.

I know what your talking bout and its not it. Once the car equalizes it keeping making, doesnt seem to want to stop untill I drive it a bit.

rev it and see if it goes away, im thinking air pump

doesnt really go away, my car almost sounds like it completely drops off after im done reving it.
