c5 zo6 vs c6
My dad is looking into getting either a c5 zo6 or a normal c6. I was just wanting to hear from some of you that have driven both what you like about each. What are some of the pros and cons of each? Which do you guys think would be best?

Most people who have driven both prefer the C5 Z06. I know a few people who sold C5 Z's to get a Z51 C6 and then went right back to the C5 Z06.

Depends on what the car will be used for....
If you are looking to mod it and make it a designated drag or road course car....I would opt for the Z. If you are going for a nice daily driver or weekend car....hands down the C6 is an all around better car from fit and finish, stereo, looks (arguably), options.....

The car would mostly be just a weekend driver car. He is looking at one of the lemans edition c5 zo6 and a couple of the c6. I know resale on the cars is probably not going to be outstanding on either but we were thinking the c5 zo6 lemans commerative edition would hold the value a little better what do you guys think?

I kid you not..
There have to be no less than 15 threads about this same question... same title even!
If you type in "C5Zo6 or C6" into the search box I'm sure you'd have plenty of reading. When I did that I found 6 threads... if you change the spelling or variation of the search you'd find even more.
There were some good responses in the past.
Your pops can't go wrong with any of 'em.

Since I've owned both (currently own an LS3 Z51) I'll add my input.
First of all depends on how your dad feels about quality/fit and fishish. If he doesn't care about the cheesy plastic feel of the C5 interior then that's a plus for the C5.
If he's going to use it as a weekend warrior, road racer/track car and wants all out handling then definitely get the C5Z.
If he just wants to a comfortable car to cruise in, and won't use near the cars true potential then get the C6 absolutely. It's a much better car than the C5Z, but for mod potential and handling I'd give the nod to the C5Z.

C5Z's are a little lighter but you can easily make up for the 100-150 xtra lbs with MO POWA!
All jokes aside, the interior, ride and DD-ability of the C6 I just bought impresses the hell out of me. Im not a fan of the pop-up headlights or all the curves of the C5, no offense. I love the sharpe edges of the C6.
Good luck.

For the price range you must be looking at LS2 C6's. I like the exclusivity combined with the all-out capability the Z comes with out of the box plus the FRC body style is pure sex IMO. Not to say an LS2 C6 isn't fast but the Z just feels "mean". I'm not a big fan of the fixed lights on the C6 but a C6Z is a bad ***** that I would take any day over my C5Z. Can't say the same about a C6.

Here's a quick comparrison vid between a stock C5Z and a stock LS2 C6. Now, I will say that the C5Z obviously has a passenger (we don't know how heavy) and the driver of the C6 looks to be alone. As you can see, it's pretty even until speeds get higher where the C5 pulls it out by a **** hair.
I raced a couple stock LS2 C6s in my old C5Z and was always able to pull harder than this guy did....but every car is different and it really shows the value of a good driver mod.

What do you guys think about which would hold the value better, obv both cars will depreciate some but do you think either would be better as far as depreciation. He would be looking at 2005-2006 C6 due to the cost.

haha, What can I say....I guess part of me is stuck in the '80s. I still have absolutely no idea what "unskinny bop" means?
I may just have to make a vid of my vette with that song in the background now.
