I like that it has William Danials' voice, but I think it would have looked more appropriate if they modeled it on KITT's interior instead of exterior.... since its going to go on the inside of your car instead of the outside.

Also, it sounds more like KARR than KITT.

Also, after using a few different GPS units, Garmin is the best I've used so far. If you already have a Garmin, stick with it and see if there is a voice pack available to give it William Danials' voice or something similar.

That being said.... I still think its an awesome device.

I don't have the voice pack, but I made my Pioneer AVIC-D3 look the part...

I'm considering adding some lit buttons to the sides of the bezel.

I know.... but listen to the voice in the video.
He sounds more like KARR.
Slightly deeper/meaner/raspier and more forceful.

that is AWESOME, I agree it doesnt sound exactly like KITT, I guess William Daniels voice has aged a bit, but I am getting that, I was wanting to get a GPS that fit in the little cubby hole behind the shifter, but I havent found one that I liked, and I kinda wanted one that lit up in red and grey to match the interior

I was thinking that but didn't want to say it.

It would be difficult to see the screen down there and your eyes would be too far off the road to too long to get a good look at it. Before I bought the Pioneer AVIC-D3 (I wish it was positioned higher too like new cars), I had considered making a pod on top of the center stack for my Garmin Nuvi 680, similar to the aux gauge pod in Mustangs and Imprezas, but housing the GPS instead of gauges. I remember seeing a generic pod that I may be able to modify.

I didn't say it was lame. I think its a cool concept, but with room for improvement (styling should have been interior instead of exterior and I'd prefer it be a Garmin).

I do agree, having the exterior of the car/the hoff on one of the screens is pretty dumb, although the concept is pretty cool.

that's awesome i may have to get one... no doubt Garmin is the king of GPS thats what aviation uses almost exclusively.

VIP1 that's awesome how did you do that? I'm very interested in doing something similar does that specific unit have something that allows you to control your screen?

would be cool if it was voice activated and when you said "plot me the fastest route to xxxxxx" it would do it

The voice box is just a background image on a Pioneer AVIC-D3.

What do you mean? The Pioneer AVIC-D3 is a touch screen, but the "buttons" you see on that screenshot of KITT's voice box are non-functional. Its just a background image. If you want functional custom buttons, you'll have to make a car pc.

Ok the last video posted WTH they are in a damn PT Cruiser showing off something to do with Kitt... that is worse then the damn Mustang Kitt... I still could not watch the new show just because of that car.

Anyway If it did what you said above I would buy one no questions asked lol.

yeah, and it'd be even more hilarious if it did that weird map scanning thing that they did on KR where no matter where they were, it alway showed the same map.. lol

then after the GPS find the route, it puts up the right directions, that would be hilarious
