swap torquer 2 for a VRX5?
Hi all... im kind of contemplating on getting a larger bumpstick now that i have a daily driver..
Currently i have the texas speed torquer 2 (232/234 .595/.598 112), along with stock 243s, 90/90, LTs, true duals etc.. motor makes #s in sig N/A on a mustang dyno..I also have a nitrous plate kit on tap and have just a 100 shot hooked up for now. The interenals are stock and i dont feel like getting a good head right now because once this motor goes im going to be building something better. So in the long run, this makes more sense for me..IM REALLY digging these Vengeance cams, all of them seem to make awesome power. After speaking with Ron through e-mail he suspects i could get a 15rwhp increase. The VRX5 is a 236/238 .601/.605 113 LSA....Its a bit larger then the Torquer 2.. I'll be running 3.42 gears until i blow the 10 bolt up... Should i man up and get something even bigger?
Also, i just recently got the car dyno tuned after i put the heads, 90/90 and true duals on. Will a cam swap like this mess up the tune? I have a wideband so i can check out the AFR.
Last question, im running Patriot Golds right now, ive had them for the past ~10k (estimate), should i get them checked out? or should the be good to go?

I'd take that 15hp gain bet any day of the week. I've dyno tested comp lobes in that area & only seen 1-2hp gains with losses down low. Maybe you can offer to buy the cam if it really gains that 15hp. If not they can have it back & pay your labor!?!?

i'd love to do that... Jason i believe you have a PM from me regarding a clutch.
Unfortunately, i just found out my clutch is slipping. So a cam upgrade is going to have to wait. And your right, i honestly couldnt see me gaining much power with 4 more degrees of duration.
Maybe in the future ill run something along the lines of a 240/240, 6xx"/6xx" or something

i dont think you would gain that much either. Plus TSP's cams run good, I didnt put down the dyno numbers i wanted but then when i went to the track and ran what i did with mods in sig (no pulley or 92/92.. just stock ls1 intake/tb), not even on a full run... I really couldnt ask for much more.
