At 100 mph my A6 w/2.73 gears is only turning 2300 rpm. These cars could run that all day long but as RE AND CHERYL said it could hurt your drivers license.

No issues at all and I had the luxury of holding about 120 for a good 20-30 mins on the way to Chicago. Talk about making good time.

...ahhh....it's a Corvette....no problems at all at that speed. In these cars,..i'd honestly say the speed limit should be about 120 for cruising(i'm baseing my opinion off a SIX speed car, no traffic, and a nice straightaway. @120mph the car is stable as can be, a novice could handle it).

They're stable,..they seem to like it, no heating,..or cooling issues. However, sustained HIGH SPEEDS(I don't consider 100mph to be in that catergory),...for extended periods of time could cause your diff/trans fluid to overheat,..hence the need for heatexhangers/ coolers on diffs/trans/oiling systems on mostly all track/race cars that see contiuous velocity.

And for the record, my STS cruises at 110 mph like it was born for the autobahn. Very stable. Very flat and effortlessly controlable. The vette likes 150 plus.
