Will too low of fuel pressure...
...cause the car to perform badly?
It seems like a stupid question, but I only ask because I'm going back and forth with the manufacturer of my fuel tank on this matter. The pump they supplied me for my LS1 conversion will only pump 51 PSI...obviously the motor is supposed to run 58.
I took it for a little drive and noticed it "bucks" a little crusing around 2k RPM's...could this be caused by the fuel pump?
Motor is a stock 98 Z28/T56 with intake/LT's/4.10's.
Thanks,
-Adam

I'm using a Vette-style FPR, and that's not the issue - I've cut it COMPLETELY out of the fuel system, and it still only pumps 51 psi to the driver's side fuel rail. I've got a Warlbro 255lph sitting around, maybe I should toss it in?
I just took it around the block again, and at about 2000 rpm's, if I press the throttle probably 50%, it bogs and doesn't go. Only error codes it's throwing are cooling fan codes, because they're not hooked up yet.

It WILL lean you out as the PCM doesn't know your pressure is low.
You can add more fuel by tuning, if you have HPtuner/EFI... to make up for the low pressure until you make things right...
