Forged LS1 Internals???
I'd like to know if there are (available now for the LS1) aftermarket Crankshafts, Connecting Rods, Pistons, and any/all related internals that are forged and made for severe duty- but in stock sizes and direct replacements, not strokers.
The goal here would be for a stock-sized 346, but with more inherent strength and durablity and perhaps enhanced longevity.

I'm very interested in this information, too. I would like to keep the stock crank and upgrade pistons/rods/bolts if it will buy me "piece of mind" with my new FI setup.

you could check with cola cranks for a forged piece, call them, don't e-mail or it will take them forever to get back to you. just about anybody can set you up with forged rods and pistons of stock dimensions. no kits though. from what i understand, the stock crank is actually a very good piece, just the rods and mostly the pistons suck.

Re: Forged LS1 Internals???
Just go to one of our sponsor's web sites and look around. For example, go to Thunder Racing and look in their LS1 Engine section. They have forged rods & pistons. Many of the sponsors have online catalogs where you can see the forged stuff.
Heck, click on the Diamond Pistons sponsor banner, look at their offerings. I know Thunder sells 'em, as well as Lunati rods. All for stock cubes. Just do some surfing. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: Forged LS1 Internals???
Speedpro make a nice coated skirt forged piston for ALOT less than some of the other companies etc. They also make a race style bearing, file fit rigs too.
I'd add a set of ARP rod bolts to a stock rod or u could buy a set of decent aftermarket forged rods for arounf $500.Stock crank is pretty tuff,I'd leave it alone...
