Default painting my intake manifold?

I've seen a pic of a T/A with the intsake manifold painted dark blue. I was thinkign about buying the LS6 intake and painting it and then install it. What all do i need to know before i paint the intake manifold and what will be needed? Also, is there something on the intake manifold that i don't paint? thanx.

You dont paint it, a shop does. Pretty much any auto painter will paint it. Make sure they paint it the same blue as your car. good luck

, the best ones I've seen were painted personally (but a lot of time was put into it).

You can easily paint it yourself, but if you try to make it the same color as the car it is usually hard to match exact. I say if you know that you can do a good job, then go for it... if you want a more pro finish and don't mind spending some money then I would take it to a bodyshop.
