Angry wastegate reference issue

I got an sts kit with a fmic. I have an 8lb spring in the waste gate but only see 5psi. I used to see about 7psi before the install of the intercooler, then 4psi after install of intercooler. I know there is supose to be pressure drop with an intercooler so I referenced the WG near the throttle body and after the intercooler. Next i went out for a run and it only went up 1psi to steady 5psi. I thought referencing it after the intercooler was suppose to correct the pressure drop? What could it be, I made sure there are no leaks in all the hoses? Stumped at this point and frustrated at the fact it is not wrking like it should. Can anyone help me again. lol Damn forced induction so awesome., but lots of small things to deal with

I'm curious how long the tubing is? The shorter the better.

It could be a really cheap intercooler.

what size intercooler are you using, my buddys car has a 3inch FMIC and he has a 8lbs spring and he sees about 5.5psi in the intake and yeah if its a shitty intercooler and donsnt have good flow thru it it will drop more but do what im doing get a 2 stage boost controler and just bump it up on the first setting to what ever you want and the the next stage will be ur cobra killer

The intercooler is from cxracing off of ebay(31x12x3) the same that multiple people are running on here.

I plan on putting the reference back to where it was and just putting a manual boost controller on it to get it back up to 8psi. Just curious why moving the ref. point I only saw one pound extra.

A 8 lb spring will not always be 8 psi in the intake. They base the spring pressure off of a 1:1 backpressure to boost ratio, it is not en exact science. Make sure you have NO leaks, and if you are not seeing the boost you like step up to a larger spring or add a controller.
