Default Valve Springs

Bone stock 2001 Z06 twin turbo, we must have experienced some valve float from using the stock springs, and now a lifter is shot.

What valve springs would you guys recommend for stock cam? Something to avoid the valve float? Cam might have to be changed too, depending if the lifter ate away at it. But even still, stock cam is going back in.

Bottom Line: Which springs?

A set of single comps would be fine. You can order them at any of the sponsors shops.

Well since you are a boost car and you are a 01 ZO6 and if memory serves me right 01 ZO6 had 525 lift cams and the 02 up were 551/547 lift. The 918 Comp Cam springs would do probably but it it were mine I would go ahead and get the 921 Duel Comp Cam springs or something equal for insurance because I m sure you run it pretty hard and better safe than sorry. Its your play toy and if you get another cam with more lift you will be setting good to go. Good Luck

Think I might go with the newer ls6 cam with dual springs.
My 01 LS6 Cam: 204/211 .525/.525
02+ LS6 Cam: 204/218 .551/.541

Which dual springs should I go with?

You don't need duals with the LS6 cam. Get the PAC beehive springs. Ask 99BlancoSS he sells them.

Before you shoot in the dark, what is the required seat force for the springs that will work with the turbo? The builder should know this. Once you have that information you can make an informed decision on springs. This is not a decision to make on random information.

Would I need the 918 springs to run to 6500 or are the stockers ok?

I would recommend the pac 1218. OR if you want over kill the 1518 is fine. Both are direct drop ins and I have them in stock. He's running an oem cam the 1218 is fine. In fact most people dont realize that PAC makes them for car mfg's for use as oem springs. They also make the very expensive Ferrea's. If you have questions you can call me anytime.
