What is the best tool to buy to polish to a chrome finish. I'm thinking some type of a dremel, but if anyone can be a little more specific and tell me what else I need to buy it would be great, thanks.

Dremel would take forever. Depends on how large the object(s) you are polishing are. Take a look at the Eastwood link on the right (the yellow one) and check out their polishing stuff.

Most polishers use several different tools for the job. Depends on how rough things start, the space they have to work, and how quickly they want to finish.

Eastwood had everything you will need. I've tried to polish with soso results. I was using an old furnace blower motor that I had turned into a grinder. The RPM's weren't high enough and I didn't get the luster I wanted. I would only use a dremel in tight areas or on small pieces.

I checked out Eastwood, and they had a "Mini Die Grinder" that was reasonable priced but rather small. the other two were either $130 or $260 and I am pretty sure they have to be bolted down to use. I have never really polished anything before, but what I wanted to do was just get little grinder for $27 but it pneumatically powered and I was just hoping to plug something into an extension cord. i'd just use a dremel for engine bay stuff. Even if it takes a while, its worth the time!
