Default Asa Ar1

Okay first of all I did a search and only one thread came back with anything good.

Okay so I've been looking really hard at rims...I'm really picky when it comes to rims and I'd say 95% of the ones out there are horrible. I also wanted to stick w/ 17" rims and keep at least my 9" width and I dont want to spend 3-4k on fikse or ccw rims. I'm also torn with what finish to go with. I wanted to stay with chrome/polished look but a lot of people seem to think gunmetal or silver would look good on my car too. Anyways I finally found some rims I like. ASA AR1. I can get them chrome, silver machined face, silver machined lip, or black.

Black

Silver

Chrome

I really think the black looks sweet as long as the actual face isnt black. Kinda like the 35th LE wheel kinda vibe with the sides and inner wheel black. Also what kind of offset will I need. They offer 20, 35, and 45 in the offset dept. I don't want these wheels sticking out nor do I want them in either. I like them right about where the stock wheels are.

These wheels seem to be really popular in Europe as most of their dealers are there while tirerack is the only dealer in the us.

I say the black ones.

And the offset doesn't mean much without a wheel width. You need the width to know how much will stick out or not.

I like the first two a lot. The chrome ones look a little too flashy for me imo.

I'm not a fan of black rims as I think they might be out of style and look like crap in about 10 years. However, the siver gets my vote as the chrome might look too ricer with that many spokes.

And I like the Black ones but ultimately it's your decision.
The best advice I can give you is don't be afraid to be different.

thanks man. i dont think the style of the first picture is actually available for the 17x9 models w/ 45mm offset. My only two options are silver machined or chrome

dammit, I like the first one.

Chrome will be easier to take care of but I've always liked silver/brushed finishes ... did the brushed finish to my TT2s by taking a Scotchbright pad to it and got a load of crap from everyone. But, I liked it!
