Default Anti-Surge system?????

Hey Guys, Finishing up my P600B twin intercooled procharger install on a 97 LT1

and I have

2 booklets for directions. I was looking over them and I see that one booklet

tells me to hook up an "anti surge" from the proflow to vacuum port on the

drivers side of intake manifold.. Is that the BOV?? And do I need to do this.

The other booklet tells me nothing about it and its for the same system.

I see no one has tried to help out with this one. Call me 252-562-3899 maybe we can put our heads together and figure it out, I've done a few blower setups in my day.

most likely yes its a BOV
though when i hear anti surge i think of a specially designed inlet of a turbo charger to prevent surging. But in your case it has to be a BOV

not necessarily. if you go to exoticperformanceplus.com and look up the installation instructions for the procharger system, there is a section that deals with the hook up of an anti-surge valve. it takes higher pressure air from after the blower and redirects it back infront of the blower. im a newbie myself to the FI stuff, but they list an anti-surge valve and a BOV as two different parts....the stock procharger kit does not have a BOV, but it does have the AS valve. the procharger race kit i bought has a BOV and no AS valve. both valves have a similar function but there is a difference.

maybe bob from epp can chime in and shed some light

Blow off valve=for turbo system. Bypass valve= anti surge. The units bov and bp can be the same but there purpose is different. Superchargers don't have a wastegate.

Blow off valve can be used for either super or turbo
the purpose for both applications is when the throttle body closes it won't "surge" or stall the compressor. their purpose is the same.................
no difference. what your talking about if its redirected or vented to atmosphere.
