I know this guy and the specs on the cam are true...So you can put the BS flag away cause you don't need it...Like he said she runs with stock stall, heads and no tuning ...Let me say, That it sounds mean...

It might run with the stock converter, but with a 4000 it would be much more fun. What type of heads? Have you got headers? How about listing your mods.

Re: Biggest Cam on A4 Stock Stall, Heads, no Tuning
I haven't seen anyone run a 239/251 cam on stock cubes.
Hard to beleive that it makes good power on stock tuning or that low end drivability doesn't suck. To say that thing idles fine at 550 rpm is something I would have to see. Seems like there would be a major issue with vacuum...
I'm pretty skepitcal of this one. Not saying it somehow didn't happen, but I'm glad you didn't tell me he passed CA emmission. :p
He would be much faster with a converter.

I don't believe that this cam would even idle with stock tuning and stock converter.

Re: Biggest Cam on A4 Stock Stall, Heads, no Tuning
I dont believe that the car would be running without a tune. If it works, great! But, why not try and make some extra power by having the car tuned?

heres some pics of the install.
and heres the vid of sols (DVCrazyCams) car. sounds BADASS!!!

Re: Biggest Cam on A4 Stock Stall, Heads, no Tuning
The only way that I can believe this is BECAUSE it has the stock stall. Why? Because a tight converter will smooth out the surges in a major way by not allowing the rpms to jump way up. You could increase the incoming air at idle by drilling the TB hole. You could also disable the IAC and set the idle higher with the throttle stop screw. You could say that neither are "tuning"...not computer tuning anyway.
Regardless, even if this isn't , it's neat for an experiment but that's about it. It would be a total dog off the line with a stock stall.

I agree with the Colonel.
A cam with that duration/overlap in a stock displacement "daily driver" would give up so much low end torque that it would be a complete dog with a stock converter. Way too "soft" at low revs to make it worthwhile to use as a daily driver in traffic.
Additionally, that much cam overlap on a stock headed car would decrease the engine's static compression to the point of very poor throttle response at low revs.
Just my opinion,
Ron

The car does tend to surge at certain speeds with the rpms to low around under1500 in diferent gears. but she drives fine. she idles at about 750-850 in idle out of gear and 550 in gear.
as far as low rpm power feels i'm actaul suprised it still feels really good. a little sluggish from about idle to 1500. and it most certainly not slowing me down. the only real problem i'm having , which was even before the cam was installed is i have bad bank 1 o2s. which could be the reason why i have alot of low end and mid power still.. with the getting car to idle wasn't that hard just drilled the to help with surging and eventual the computer just relearned it's idle . i did block off the ICA screwed around with that while adjusting the throttle but but over time in about 500 miles the computer just reset everthing and relearned. so it idles much better now then it did before when first installed .. I also noticed the doesn't have brakes at to low of an idle cause of the vacuum. i'm assuming the computer realized it and it holds a 1200 rpm until i get slow enough or when theres enough vacuum to stop. computer eventauly works out all the bugs intime. now i dont have to hold rev the motor to help with vacuum problems when slowing down. but i dont have to do that all the time it wiill hold enough vacuum for a good while.
mods- Borla cat-back, SLP LongTubes w/cats, SLP LID, SLP 160, MSD SC, RAM AIR Hood MOD, manual fan swtich, GLobal west spherical end LCA's, SLP Titanuim Valvetran w/ 1.85 rr removed for cam back to stock. and all other basic MODS.

Man that thing lopes! Watching the motor shake that much looks like it's not a very fun ride in traffic. You should get it tuned and to the dyno to see what it can do.
BTW, Where are you located?

I plan to get it programmed soon. asa i can get the little things wrong with it fixed like bad sensors and stuff. it's not to bad in traffic i f you dont mind sitting in traffic shaking like a
dryer off it's axis.
Located in San Jose, CA
i dyno'd 330 on a mustangdyno w/out cam
and 377 witha dynojet w/out cam
