Simple Vararam ?

Simple Vararam ?
has anyone had problems from water/rain with their vararam kit? i dont want to get another thread started on which cai is the best. All i am looking for is can your engine be damaged by driving in heavy rain or by hitting a large puddle of water with the vararam. Without doubt the vararam works from a performance standpoint. I just dont want to have to worry about getting caught in the rain or dodge puddles if i buy a vararam. i have searched on here, z06vette, and the corvetteforum on this matter and no one really answers my question. It always turns into well i picked up .3 in the 1/4 lol.

Vararam did early testing on the unit for the C6 in , I belive, a 3-4 foot deep drive in tank with little to no issues. If you plan on driving into a swimming pool, you may wanna reconsider.

I have mine here in South FL and it seems to rain every single day now with no issues what so ever. I was installing it in the rain and it has rained everytime I have driven in it so far. I had more problems with my JLT fender CAI kit on my 03 Cobra. None with the vette.

GREAT NEWS GUYS. I have been going back and forth on cai systems. Glad to hear no one has had any problems with water/vararam. Are you guys using the stock air bridge? thanks

the vararam completely replaces the stock airbox all the way to the accordian style coupler that attaches to the MAF. The stock "airbridge" goes away with install, as does part of the radiator shroud, unless you buy the pre cut one and replace it(pita, imo, just cut the stocker).I've never heard of an incident of hydrolock or water injestion with the VR.

Correct; I purchased a high flow airbridge for mine, but used the stock one for a while.
My car is NOT a daily driver, but I have been caught in downpours while on trips with no issues.
I just purchased one to put on my wife's DD, and I am a LITTLE concerned because the danger is in driving through standing water that is deep enough to reach the vararam's entrance. You DON'T want to try to ease it through any deep water standing in the streets
