ok... 1998 ws6... 63,000 miles. ring and pinnion was done at 30,000. i bought the car at 61,000. the car has made the noise the whole time the second owner owned it. 40k to 60k. Ive opened the rear end. there is no wear on the gears and there was the correct amount of fluid. While the car was jacked up... i drove the car (rear wheels off the ground) and the noise wasn't there. it only makes it while driving. it makes the noise in all gears. so im thinking its not in the transmission. and im thinking they would replace the axle bearings when they did ring and pinion. what do you guys think ?
