I've heard pros and cons on using the 6al. A lot of guys here will tell you that the MSD with the OPTI will cause issues and some have seen the MSD hose the OPTI prematurely. I personally ran an MSD 6AL for a while and didn't have any issues. The real plus is the tunability with easier rev limiter changes and timing advance for nitrous. However, if your car is stock, you really won't see much difference. Get a good coil (msd) and wires and that will be 10times more.

an msd wont give you any extra h/p unless you had a problem. i run one on each of my lt1s. only because i need them to run a timing retard for my n2o. i've never had a problem with opti's due to msd's infact the 95 lt1 in my chevelle still has an original opti with 150k on the engine and a 150 h/p n2o kit.

I agree that an ignition box really won't do you any good unless you are using N20. I have a 6AL box in my car but haven't had it hooked up for 2 years. Biggest thing I saw was that it definitely shortened the life of my cap and rotor.

I've also dyno'd this box by itself and saw no gains.
