Does the steering pump make any noise?

I noticed that on a friend's car, just a bitch to turn. Driven quite a few LS1 cars and know that it shouldn't be that hard to turn.

I'll have to check it out later to see if an underpulley is the cause as there was plenty of fluid in the system and the PS pump seemed not to make any strange noises. No coolant mix either, it was just oddly tough to steer.

Mine was that way for a little while. Replacement motor had a pump with it that sat for a while so it was tight. Works fine now once it loosened up.

need to start lifting weights or get skinnier tires for the front

just a thought but you could lift the front and suspend the body so the tires rotate freely while someone turns the wheel while you check to see if anything is binding underneath, just a thought

Check the caster. I am not sure how much adjustment if any there is on our cars but if there is excessive caster in the front wheels it will turn hard.
