Not really. Theres a member on SupraForums that goes by the name PhillySingle. He has a big single turbo SBC powered Supra that makes right around 2k HP. Everyone LOVES it. Not to mention there are alot of people starting the Lexus/Toyota V8 swaps. Supra guys just love HP.

Below are some quotes from the Supra Forums.

It's built to race in Limited Street class or "True 10.5" as its better known. The rear end is a Fab 9" with 40spline axles, dual caliper brakes, blah blah, and Ladder bar suspension. Front suspension is strange struts and coil overs, TYDO built custom K-member and manual steering using Strange spindles and spindle mount Magnum drags. Rear tires will be 28x10.5 on Magnum drag double bead locs. The car has a full custom moly cage by TYDO but still remains unibody, it's incredibly stiff as the floors and framerails are braced in several places. The I/C is the 3000hp Chiseled Performance unit with the new style thin cores.
We've taken so much weight out of this thing, the i/c in the nose won't even matter. It doesn't have a radiator, the ice water cools the engine after it goes through the i/c. And I figure on having to add weight for traction in the back, so it'll offset! LOL Besides I wanted the interior to remain relatively stock looking, save for the Kirkey's and the Racepak dash. Big interior I/C's FTL!!!

20k wouldn't touch this motor... :barfkiss: Sadly enough, I'm gonna have closer to 45k in the full swap. But for a somewhat reliable 2500hp smallblock, you're gonna pay that!
To answer some questions, the ice tank is only 5 gal, there's a pump pushing water to the motor and a BIG pump for the I/C then they return on one line.
The reason I went with the Supra, they are COOL! I love this car and cut it up enough with the 9" rear back when it had the 2j that I was like... why the hell not!

I honestly don't have any more build pics, the cage was done 2 years ago, the 9" and ladder bar setup was done last year, and now the swap. It did 125mph in the 1/8 on its last pass with the 2jz, and it broke a wrist pin at around 400ft out. The car is not your typical heavy Supra. With the 2j, stock k-member setup and 9" rear it weighed 3150 w/o me in it and had a 52/48 weight bias. Pretty impressive. I'd expect it to still weigh around that, and possibly slightly less this time.
I'm going with the latest FAST injection and FAST digital dash, I've been using FAST since 2001 so it's the logical choice for me.
On the engine install, TYDO built a custom k-member and the engine has motor plate and mid plates, it uses a standard style Mustang manual steering rack and he built a steering shaft that goes in the stock column. I don't know what the final cage cost was, it was kind of a trade for labor situation, but if I had to guess I'd say around $2k to $2500 would do it.
I'll get some good HD pics when the car is done and cleaned up. You guys gotta see the cage and ladder bar setup, it's awesome work!
