Just got tuned yesterday, he did a great job, drivablity is far better than I expected and I don't have to worry anymore that the tune I stole from a friend's car is going to hurt anything. Plus he got me a few extra ponies with his tune, and he's a real nice guy. I would recommend him to anyone that needs some tuning work.

I'm pretty sure that the new cat-back probably cost me a few ponies, time to order a cut-out.....

Looks good Bobby! Gotta go with that LS6 intake, you'll feel it.
Mike is a great guy, he always gets that little extra out of the car.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I still think there is something up with the cam timing as the torque peaks early at 3500 and actually drops after that.
Scary Jay, just wrong and scary :punch:

+2 for Mike .... been building and tuning my car for many years. The TA's gone now (RIP) ... when the new project begins, it starts in Mike's shop.
It will be there frequently for many years to come ... for all my future tuning and go-fast needs. All I can say is 2009 is a new year.

The cam is installed correctly. I was one of three that checked it, it was in my shop, and I have done a bunch of these. That motor was way dirtier inside than I like, and the original chain went on. Maybe it threw it off.
Again, there is no way that cam timing is off at all. I thought the numbers were ok for a high mileage stock LS1 intake, stock never removed heads 98. Besides, that torque curve is way flat and if the cam was off even a tooth, it would have never done that well.
Oh, and a used cam in not pristeen shape. I hate using used internal engine components.

Yeah I talked to someone else that was running basically the same cam (his:230/232 .595/.595 mine: 230/232 .595/.585 both 112 LSA), an LS1 intake, stock 98 heads and the same LS7 clutch package and everything. He cam in at 367 with a similar flat spot in the torque curve. Then with just an LS6 intake and a throttle body, he made 388 on the dyno. He said his peak torque cam in quite a bit later and instead of having the flat spot it was more curved. Almost like connecting the beginning and end of the flat spot with the top of a circle (if that makes sense). I think it's just the miles on the engine combined with the stock intake, 98 heads and the heavy ass LS2 flywheel. I will be getting an intake in the next couple months or so and we can put it back on the dyno and see how it goes.
