Default Header Installation Question

I searched the forum and couldn't find exactly what I need. I have bought some used Jet Hot headers for my '96 Z28. I know I need to buy a catted y-pipe for visual emissions check and header gaskets. I think I also need O2 extensions if my memory serves me correctly. I'm going to delete the AIR and EGR so Ii'm going to buy the block off plates off ebay. Am I missing anything? Right now there's a flowmaster exhaust that came on the car so that will stay for now. Any recommendations on the catted y-pipe or could I fabricate one for cheaper?

Can anyone recommend a catted y-pipe and somewhere to get it for a reasonable price? I would also like to know what length O2 extensions are needed.

you could always get a ory and weld the cat shell on there to make it look like it has cats

there are two kinda butt and lap band clamps. both do the same thing. they connect two pieces of pipe together by clamping a piece of metal around the tubing with two screws

I have had good luck with the percy's gaskets. As for the extensions i got two 24" extensions from racetronix, kinda expensive but they have a high temp coating over the wires so i dont have to worry about burning them. good luck

Transam, I like your idea. Any idea where I can get some cat shells cheap? I just need it for a visual inspection. If I'm not running cats do I need to still need the rear O2 sensors? Thought I read those can be tuned out. Do I need the O2 extenders if I tune out the rear ones?

why not just use your cats? take out the insides and put the shell around the ory. As for the rear o2s you do not need them anymore. You will set off the ses light until you get a tune unless you get some o2 sims. and yes you will need two o2 extensions for the 2 front sensors

Good idea transam... Definitely overlooked the obvious. Any idea where I can get a ORY for cheap?
