Anyone near Boca Raton who can help me with a few installs?
Someone suggested I post in the FL section and see if someone local could help me out.
I have a living room full of parts that I am looking to have installed. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me out. I don't have many tools and free time is scarce lately.
LS7 Clutch kit, flywheel, slave cylinder, etc.
Koni Shocks/Strano Springs/Adj Panhard bar
Rotors/Pads (front & rear)
I was planning on having all these thrown in while my car is in the shop getting 12 bolt with 4.10's and LCA. I'm also having my steering rack repaired while I'm there because it is leaking a bit.
Well, I got the quote and the hours for labor seem to be a little steep.
Here's the breakdown I was given:
Rear-end- 6.6 hrs
Front Springs/Shocks- 3.9 hrs
Front Rotors/Pads- 1.3 hrs
Clutch,flywheel, slave- 5.7 hrs
Steering Rack- 2.5 hrs
I'll probably just have them install the rear-end because they are pulling it off another Camaro and installing the gears I want. Plus they are throwing in the LCA's for nothing. Unless this 6.6 hrs is ridiculously high, and someone with rear-end experience wants to help.
The clutch was another thing I was thinking of having them install. I know nothing about clutch installs.
Again, if there is anyone who has the tools and expertise in the Boca Raton area (south FL) who is willing to help a fellow LS1 owner with some installs, let me know.
We can work something out to make it worthwhile...
Thanks all!

98z28bithca has offered his assistance with the shocks/springs/rotors/pads. Thanks 98z...
The more the merrier though. We could all get together, put back a few drinks and get dirty if your interested.
Might have a shop do the rear-end and clutch swap since this is my DD. But if we could do the job over a weekend, that works for me. Downtime during the week is what I am trying to avoid (work doesn't appreciate the car is apart, can't make it today excuse )
I'm in Boca, he is in Boynton (looks like). I think we may try to get together this weekend, depending on his availability.
PM me if you'd be interested in offering your assistance and thanks for the response.

LOL, true that...didn't look like much fun...
Thanks again guys for the help. Let me know when and if you'll be available to get together this weekend. Should be no brake clean involved...lol.
When's that LS6 going on?

^^^Set-up the Volant?^^^
I liked that thing because it was so easy to install and uninstall. A few bolts, a disconnect of the IAT sensor and pull off...Very easy to keep clean also...
Let me know if you want to meet up this weekend again for round 2. I've been debating doing the shocks/springs sometime during the week if I can get my hands on some jack stands and a nice jack. Looks pretty straight forward as far as the installation procedure goes.
Thanks again guys!!!

If anyone is bored tonight or just wants to hang out and get a little dirty, I think I am going to try to install the Koni/Stano set-up. I am too impatient to wait for the weekend, lol. Let me know if anyone's interested...

I got the itch to get dirty...maybe it's just some left over break cleaner, lol.
Depending on the weather, I may try to do the shocks/springs after work around 6. If you wanna help, just give me a call. Still not sure if I'll be up for it after work. Gonna play it by year.

Mosquitos put an end to my first attempt at the front shocks/springs. I may try again Friday after work. This way if I don't finish, I am not stuck with no ride to work.
Who's up for getting together Friday after 5 or this weekend?
