Default Any reason not to run a bottle with my set up?

Help me out guys.

I have a 99 Z28 with 34k miles on a forged 383 running 9:1:1 compression that is fully built to accept an ATI Procharger. It has Stage 2 AFR heads, Comp Cam, 60lb injectors, Mac Ceramic Headers, Mac Y Pipe (no cats), Corsa 304 Exhaust, Underdrive Pully, Mac SFC, Eiback Springs, HAL QA1 adjustable shocks, BMR F/R Sway Bars, BMR Control Arms, BMR Pnhard Bar, ATI Balancer, B&M Short Throw Shifter.

The problem I have is I ran a little short on cash and didn't finish the job, basically postponed the blower install. I spoke with Bob at EPP and when you include a 9" rear plus upgrade to the fuel pump we are talking 9k-10k. Basically I have to wait a while.

Having said that, I can manage $2k right now for a nice Nitrous system.
Any reason not to do that? I am patient enough to wait for the charger but not enough to keep running a motor with less hp than what I had before.

Thoughts?

Spray the **** out of it.

I would spray a 200-250 shot on that motor.

You could have an extremely nice nitrous kit for $2000.

No reason why your setup could not take nitrous. The question is how much nitrous. what is done motor wise?

With what you have the head bolts may become a factor around 250. I know Diamond makes good pistons. Different versons of there pistons are rated for diffrent amounts of boost and nitrous. Being that your motor was built for boost I would expect the pistons were rated for atleast that. I have to say I am suprised they used the GM torque to yield bolts..

I am sure the pistons would be fine, we based everything on running 14psi
on the D-1SC with an 8 rib.

He's got head studs so there shouldn't be any problems.

What type of intake are you running?

It sounds like you got a good motor there....I wouldn't hesitate to spray a 200-300hp shot on it. You just have to make sure you have enough fueling to cover the size shot you want to spray.

Wow,
The stock intake is going to deffintly choke it down assuming you have some good flowing heads. Personally I am a fan of doing it right the first time. The system I would recommend would depend on your plans, classes you may be racing in, and budget.

The Victor JR is a great choice for a stroker engine with a high flowing top end that will be turning RPMs of 7000 or more. It will take alittle from the low end torque however it will make up for it on the top end.

The car is and will remain a street car with visits to the track here and there.
My budget is $1,500.

Nice looking ride there. How high of a RPM are you turning the motor?
