Default My 408 iron block, GT47-88 build.

well since everyone else has been posting progress pics i suppose i shall too!!

old setup was a forged 346ci, w/ about 300 worth of bottle. (TEA heads, FAST90/NW90, TNT F2 kit) car went 6.3's w/ a 6speed :yup:

video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0724awWcAHw

hopefully i can break into the 5's w/ the new setup.

that setup made 705 HP and was really pushing the limits so i tore down the motor and sold everything. this was about 1 1/2 years ago. lol I've been buying parts here and there. I have Cristal dreams on a budlight budget. Doing my best not to charge anything on CC. when i have spare cash i'll buy something. Been hard since i've bought a house in that 1.5 year time frame.

the shortblock was built by HKE.

4.00 eagle crank
eagle rods
diamond pistons (coated tops and side skirts)
ls1speed turbo cam
arp everything

heads are unported 317's w/ dual v.springs, stainless intake and inconel exh.
(i want to get the car running first then will upgrade heads later down the line)

headers are OFI. i was one of the first to purchase a set when Joe (Joel?) started making these.

fuel system consist of a sumped 98 tank, dual A1000 pumps.

CR should be around 8.4ish to start off with. when i switch to good heads might bump it up or leave it. dont know yet

I will have everything together in the next month or two. i plan to send the car to LMR to fabricate teh crossovers, DP, etc.

I was in a nasty car wreck back in April and suffered a broke leg (www.ztaracing.com/Wreck) and that's put me back a couple months as i've been on crutches and in a wheel chair. Still managed to stick the motor in though by myself

here are some mock up pics. i know the headers are on backwards, but wanted to get an idea of what it'd look like

well the worse case scenario i'll use my 2008 income tax return to finish the project. other then fabrication i lack 96lb injectors, driver box, WG, 2 step and EBoost2.

got bored one night.

i'd love to go 8's w/ the 6 speed, but right now i'm just focused on finishing the project. i have set no goals for the car so i cant be let down....

BUT, if you want to bench race, it went 6.3's w/ about 650ish RWHP. could only imagine what it'll run w/ say 800+

Ohio Forced Inductions, one of the first sets. there's alot of "slag?" inside of them. like metal shavings. i guess its from the welding?

need to get them cleaned out. if money allows i'll have them coated. Never gave up on teh project. i just like to throw the BS flag to keep some locals off my trail

slowly but surely it'll get there.

Jesus, I just checked their pricing. Did you think about maybe going with truck manifolds instead? Would have saved you a ton, and not put you down on power any.

Either way, they look great.

yeah i thought about it. this setup has changed directions 4 or 5 times. at one point it was going to be a full blown race car, but the more i got into it the more i decided i want it to be a street car. as of right now there's alot more i'd like to do, but i've scaled some stuff down just to get'er running.

A friend who lurks on here built a 408ci + GT47-88 and A/A, did 920rwhp on a Mustang dyno, at 24-25psi a week ago. Stout stuff indeed.

very nice! i have a good idea what it'll do, but not till some good heads go on. i'm not sure what the unported 317's will limit me to.

The list of "small things to do" is growing as the kit is being built, but that's to be expected w/ any custom build.

Sold the OFI headers and went w/ some custom built ones. i'll have more pics in the next couple weeks. cold side should be done this weekend hopefully. then have to disassemble and send off to coating...

few pics....

New Bigger Radiator

BMR Turbo K-member w/ tubular lower a-arms

simple interior shot. the empty AC Vent will house the Eboost2. Other 2 gauges are fuel pressure and water temp.

Went w/ a single fuel pump vs. dual A1000's. Sumped 98 tank.

This is how it was while i drove it N/A for about a year. i've since gone w/ a bigger radiator as you can see in the post above. but i wanted to show how much room i made for the 88mm. Even w/ all teh room i cleared up... it still a TIGHT fit.
