pro's and cons between 112 & 114 LSA
what are the pro's and cons of the 2 LSA's? all i know is that the 112 sounds way meaner and the 114 sounds more stock, but what is the difference in performance? thanks!

Re: pro's and cons between 112 & 114 LSA
The 112 will produce more power from the midrange to peak. The 112 will also produce its peak hp at a slightly higher rpm than the 114. It's a misconception that a 114 LSA will make its power higher up. If you can tolerate a rougher idle, get a 112 over a 114.

I believe, a 112 will make more power at a lower rpm. The 114 will push it up the rpm range.

you have it backwards....
112 LSA makes a narrower/tighter power band with a higher "peak" power (on a dyno it will give you more hp)
114 LSA makes a broader/longer power band with a lower and later "peak" power
ex:
112LSA power band: 2000 RPM - 6400 RPM with 445HP @ 6000RPM
114LSA power band: 1800 RPM - 6600 RPM with 440HP @ 6200RPM

A tighter LSA falls off quicker after it's HP peaks.
Take a 224/224 110 and a 224/224 116. All other factors being the same, you'll be shifting the 110 at about 6300 and the 116 at about 6800. The 116's power curve will fall off VERY slowly after the peak HP as compared to the 110.

i only let mine shift around 6450 and its 114LSA. Also, I dont see there the 112 is WAYYY MEANER than the 114? They both sound the same side by side to me. Just depends on idle rpm

Re: pro's and cons between 112 & 114 LSA
I bought an MTI X1 because of the very broad torque range and Broad HP that is assosciated with it....It should also put up bigger peak #'s because of being 112lsa
Is anybody here a shop guy that has done and dyno'd a ton of these to give a REAL ANSWER.???
