Default Question about gears and 1/4mi runs.

I was at the track a few weeks ago and was trapping at 117mph with just 380whp on LS1 intake and TB, with G5X4 cam, 4.10's, full exhaust, and a lid.

I got done with my car today and now I have 92/92 combo (car feels amazing), new pulley, new Rolling rockers. I am also planning on adding FTRA kit.

My problem is that when I was crossing 1/4mi mark, I was almost at red line already, or so it felt like. I'm afraid that with my new mods, I will be hitting a rev limiter since I hope to be trapping at least 120mph.

My question is, how far can I raise my rev limiter on stock/untoched bottom end of my 99 Z28 with 50k mi? I want to keep it on the safe side and not blow anything up, but I also don't want to be shifting into 5th at the track.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

OP

6000rpm? I'm revving it to at least 6400rpm right now, and by the old dyno I see that rev limiter was set close to 6800rpm, or so it appears.

I would NOT go over 6800rpm with stock rod bolts less you want to risk certain bad things, i have the MS3 cam thats peaks at 6450 set the limiter to 6600. It was 6700.

G5X4 peaks around 6300-6400rpm, and on the dyno they revved it up to 6800 and hp was barely dropping. Now with 92/92 it should peak even higher cuz it was chocking with LS1 intake and TB.
